Popasna Map Poster & Print
Popasna is a town in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine that grew up as a railway settlement in the late nineteenth century. Its plan still shows that origin. The rail lines and yards run through the town as broad bands, and the streets on either side follow a largely regular grid. Around it, the open Donbas steppe is divided into long fields and cut by gullies and small streams.
The railway made Popasna a junction, and the tracks dominate the map: wide, parallel lines with sidings, depots and industrial sites along their edges. Residential streets fill the space between these structures, with a few larger buildings near the centre. The pattern is typical of the region's railway and industrial towns, simple and functional.
In 2022 Popasna saw prolonged fighting and was left largely destroyed. A Popasna map poster shows the town's layout as it appears in current map data: the streets and railway that shaped daily life for generations. For many former residents, it is a way to keep that shape close.
