Te mapa
Porciúncula lies in the far north-west of Rio de Janeiro state, on the border with Minas Gerais. The town sits in a river valley among the rounded hills typical of this part of south-eastern Brazil. Its streets follow the valley floor, stretching along the water instead of spreading in every direction, so from above the town reads as a long, narrow shape.
The name recalls the Porziuncola, the small chapel near Assisi associated with Saint Francis, a reminder of the religious roots of many Brazilian towns. The surrounding countryside is mostly farmland, with pastures and farms on the slopes. Small roads connect the rural properties to the town and to neighbouring municipalities.
Where the valley widens, more streets appear; where it narrows, the town thins to a few parallel roads. A Porciúncula map poster captures this simple, linear form, shaped by the river and the hills on either side. It is the map of a place that grew where the land allowed, and it works cleanly in black and white.
The streets of Porciúncula extend along the valley floor, giving the town an elongated outline that follows the river closely across the map.
The river winds through the centre of town, with crossings connecting its two banks and streets arranged in lines along the water.
Rounded hills rise on both sides of the valley, and beyond them lies Minas Gerais, just across the state boundary.

Porciúncula is a small town with strong family ties, and many who left for Rio, Belo Horizonte or elsewhere still think of it as home. A map of its valley is a quiet, personal way to keep that connection in view.
