Te mapa
Port Chester is a village in Westchester County, New York, on the shore of Long Island Sound. Its eastern edge follows the Byram River, which also marks the border with Greenwich, Connecticut. On a map the village is compact and dense, with a tight street grid close to the river and the harbour, and residential streets spreading west and north.
The Boston Post Road, U.S. Route 1, runs through the centre as the main commercial street, while Interstate 95 and the Metro-North New Haven Line cut across the village in broad parallel bands. The shoreline to the south is irregular, broken by coves, marinas and small points of land reaching into the Sound.
Port Chester has long been known for the Capitol Theatre, a 1920s concert hall that has hosted generations of musicians. A Port Chester map poster captures the village's layered structure: the old riverside core, the big transport corridors and the quieter streets beyond, all framed by water on two sides.
The Byram River curves along the eastern side of the village, separating it from Greenwich and giving the map a natural edge.
Interstate 95 and the Metro-North rail line cross the village in wide, parallel strokes, a strong graphic element against the smaller street grid.
To the south, the edge of Long Island Sound breaks into coves and marinas, adding a detailed, irregular coastline to the composition.

Port Chester means different things to different people: a first apartment near the train, a family business in the village centre, a memorable night at the Capitol. A map poster holds all of those in one clean image.
