Te mapa
The Krishna River is the first thing you see on a map of Rabkavi. The river is wide in this part of Bagalkot district, and the town sits along its bank. The streets of the old quarter lie close to the water in an irregular, closely packed pattern. Newer roads run inland across flatter ground toward Banhatti, the town that forms the other half of the Rabkavi-Banhatti municipality.
Rabkavi has long been known for handloom weaving. The town's name is linked to the saris and cotton fabrics made on looms in homes and small workshops. On the map this shows up as a dense old core of narrow lanes. Around it lie the regular plots and wider roads of later growth, then the dark and light patches of irrigated fields beside the river.
A Rabkavi map poster shows the town in its setting: the river curving along one side, two built-up areas linked by the road between them, and farmland out to the edges. It is a simple composition, and it records a place that is known for its river and its looms.
The river runs wide along the edge of town and anchors the whole map. In black and white it becomes a broad pale band that sets off the dense streets beside it.
Rabkavi and Banhatti are separate built-up areas linked by road. From above you can see both centres, with the ground between them gradually filling in over the years.
The oldest part of Rabkavi is a close grid of narrow lanes. Much of the town's handloom tradition grew up here, and at print scale the lanes form a fine texture.

Koteā ko Rabkavi
A map of Rabkavi suits someone with roots in the town: a weaving family, someone who grew up by the Krishna, or someone now living far from Bagalkot. It records home through the shape of the river and the streets, with no need for pictures.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a family name, a year or a pair of place names.
