Te mapa
San Germán is a town in Holguín Province in eastern Cuba and the main settlement of its municipality. It grew up in the island's sugar-producing plains, and the landscape around it is flat, open farmland. On a map, the town appears as a compact, orderly grid with clear edges. Beyond it lie long straight field roads and the occasional railway line.
As in many Cuban towns of this type, the layout is simple and practical: square blocks, a central area with public buildings, and residential streets extending towards the countryside. Because the surrounding land is so empty on the map, the town's outline is unusually sharp. Rural roads lead off in several directions towards neighbouring villages and farms.
A San Germán map poster is for people who know the town from the inside, whether they were born here, grew up here or have family still living on its streets. The print keeps things spare. It shows a small grid in a wide landscape, which is an honest and striking picture of rural eastern Cuba.
Regular blocks form a tight, clearly defined town with a crisp outline against the empty farmland that surrounds it on every side.
Straight roads and tracks radiate across the plain towards neighbouring settlements and fields, stretching the composition well beyond the town itself.
Wide areas of cultivated land around the town give the print generous negative space, which suits the more minimal styles particularly well.

Koteā ko San Germán
For Cubans abroad and their children, a map of the home town is a way to keep an address alive across distance and years. This print works as a family keepsake or a gift for a relative who remembers every corner.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a family surname or the year someone left. Noir makes the small grid glow against a dark ground, while Paper gives it a warmer, archival feel. Printed posters are available, as well as $9 digital files.
