Te mapa
Santos Lugares is a locality in Tres de Febrero Partido, just west of the city of Buenos Aires. It is part of the continuous urban fabric of Greater Buenos Aires, but it keeps a quieter residential character, with low houses, gardens and tree-lined streets.
The neighbourhood is associated with the writer Ernesto Sabato, who lived there for decades; his house has since become a museum. On the map Santos Lugares follows the classic Buenos Aires pattern of square blocks, crossed by a railway line with its station serving as a local centre and reference point.
A Santos Lugares map poster shows that steady grid in detail. In black and white the blocks form an even pattern of squares, broken by the diagonal of the railway and the occasional wider avenue. It is a portrait of an ordinary suburban neighbourhood, and its calm geometry works well framed on a wall.

A railway line cuts through the neighbourhood, and the station acts as a local focal point, with shops and activity gathered around it.
The writer Ernesto Sabato lived in Santos Lugares for much of his life, and his former home is now a museum within these quiet residential streets.
