Te mapa
Satte lies in the north-east corner of Saitama Prefecture, on the low, flat land where several of the Kantō Plain's rivers run close together. The Tone and the Edo flow just to the east, and smaller rivers and irrigation channels cross the city itself. From above, Satte is a mix of rice fields, residential blocks and raised embankments that form long, gently curving lines across the landscape.
In the Edo period Satte was a post town on the Nikkō Kaidō, the highway between Edo and the shrines at Nikkō, and the old route can still be traced through the centre near the Tobu line station. Around that historic spine, the modern town spreads outward into neighbourhoods and industrial parks, many of them linked to the Ken-Ō Expressway, which passes through the city.
Satte is best known for Gongendō Park, where a long embankment is planted with around a thousand cherry trees that bloom in spring alongside fields of yellow rapeseed. On a Satte map poster, the embankment appears as a strong, clean line, framing the town on one side and giving a sense of the wide, water-shaped plain around it.
The raised bank of Gongendō Park runs in a long, smooth arc along the edge of the city, planted with cherry trees and clearly visible as a defining line on the map.
The line of the former Nikkō Kaidō passes through central Satte, where denser streets and older plots cluster around the historic route near the station.
Rivers, channels and flood embankments cross the flat surrounding farmland, giving the poster long, curving lines and a calm background of fields.

Satte is a place of spring walks and quiet streets, and people who live there or visited during the cherry season often want to keep a record of it. A map shows the embankments and old highway line that shape daily life.
