Te mapa
Sevastopol lies on the southwestern tip of the Crimean peninsula, and few cities are shaped so completely by their harbour. The long Sevastopol Bay cuts deep inland from the Black Sea, and a series of smaller bays branch off it and off the open coast. One of them, the Southern Bay, reaches into the city centre. Streets run along the ridges and shorelines between these arms of water.
The historic centre sits on a hill between the Southern Bay and the main bay, with a ring of streets around it. To the west lie the remains of Chersonesus, an ancient Greek colony listed by UNESCO. The city is also closely associated with the long siege of 1854 to 1855 during the Crimean War.
A Sevastopol map poster is essentially a drawing of a coastline: dozens of bays, capes and peninsulas, with the street network filling the land between them. The heavily indented shoreline gives the composition a complexity and balance that few inland cities can match. It reads well both up close and from across a room.
The main bay runs several kilometres inland from the sea. It splits the city into northern and southern sides and dominates the centre of the map.
Smaller bays cut into the shore on both sides and create a comb-like coastline of narrow fingers of water and headlands, which gives the map its distinctive outline.
West of the centre, the ancient Greek site occupies a headland by the sea. On the map it appears as an open area at the edge of the street grid.

Koteā ko Sevastopol
Its maritime outline makes Sevastopol one of the most graphic maps on the Black Sea coast, and the city holds personal meaning for many families. The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be edited to record a name, a year or a particular part of town.
Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the technical, maritime character of the bays especially well. The digital files cost $9 for six sizes, and a free watermarked preview lets you check the framing first.
