Shama Junction Map Poster & Print
Shama Junction takes its name from what defines it on a map: the point where the coastal highway between Takoradi and Cape Coast meets the road to the coast near Shama. The town is built around this intersection. Shops and houses line the main roads, and smaller lanes spread into the surrounding land, which is dotted with farms, bush and scattered settlements.
The area is part of Ghana's Western Region, near the mouth of the Pra River, one of the country's major rivers, which reaches the Gulf of Guinea near Shama. The coastal town of Shama itself has a long history as a trading post. The junction developed later, as roads became the main routes for traffic along the coast.
A Shama Junction map poster centres on the crossing of roads. Everything else in the design follows from those two strong lines. Toward the edges, the coastline or the river may enter the frame depending on framing, adding a softer, curving counterpoint.
