Te mapa
Shitanjing lies in the north of Ningxia, within the city of Shizuishan, close to the eastern slopes of the Helan Mountains. It grew as a coal-mining settlement, and the layout still reflects that origin. The map shows a planned arrangement of residential and industrial blocks laid out on sloping ground, with the mountains rising sharply just to the west.
From above, the contrast is strong. On one side the Helan range forms a band of ridges and dry valleys. On the other, the land opens out toward the Yellow River plain. Railway lines and roads built to serve the mines run along the edge of town, and the town's fortunes have long followed those of the coal industry.
A Shitanjing map poster is a record of a working town where mountain meets plain. It means a great deal to families whose history is tied to the mines, and it is a striking graphic image for anyone drawn to places shaped by industry and terrain.
The range rises directly behind the town, and its folded ridges and dry gullies fill the western side of the map with dense, irregular texture.
The streets were laid out to house and serve the mines. On the poster they appear as orderly blocks that differ clearly from the organic patterns of older towns.
Transport lines built for coal run along the foot of the mountains. Long straight tracks and roads connect the town with the rest of Shizuishan and the plain.

Koteā ko Shitanjing
Mining towns hold strong memories for the families who lived and worked in them. A map of Shitanjing records the streets, the rail lines and the mountains exactly as they sit, a lasting reference for a place that has changed along with its industry.
Give the poster a title, a subtitle such as the years your family spent there, and keep or edit the coordinates. Sand and Paper suit the desert setting, while Noir sharpens the mountain edge. HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes.
