Te mapa
Sibsāgar, now officially Sivasagar, was the capital of the Ahom kingdom that ruled much of Assam for about six centuries. The town's defining feature on any map is the great Sivasagar tank, a large rectangular body of water dug in the eighteenth century, around which the main streets and public buildings are arranged.
Beside the tank rises the Shiva Dol, one of the tallest Hindu temples in the region, and nearby stand Ahom monuments such as the Rang Ghar, an oval pavilion from which royals watched games and festivities. The Dikhow River flows past the town on its way to the Brahmaputra.
A Sibsāgar map poster places that tank right at the centre, a bold clean rectangle surrounded by streets. The river adds a sweeping curve, and the tea gardens and fields around the town soften the edges. It is a print with history built into its shapes.
The huge man-made tank in the town centre, excavated in the 1730s, appears as a large sharp rectangle that anchors the whole map.
The river winds past the town toward the Brahmaputra, its meanders adding a soft organic line against the straight streets.
Royal buildings such as the Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar lie in and around the town, on open grounds visible between the streets.

Koteā ko Sibsāgar
Sibsāgar holds a special place in Assamese history, and many people are proud of their connection to it. A map of the town honours that heritage in a restrained, modern way.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, in English or Assamese, and choose one of five styles. Paper and Sand suit the historic character, while Noir makes the tank stand out dramatically.
