Te mapa
Soe is the main town of South Central Timor regency, in the highlands of West Timor, Indonesia. It sits well above the coast, and the higher ground gives it a noticeably cooler climate than Kupang and the lowland towns. On a map, the town spreads across uneven hills. The streets follow the lie of the land rather than a grid, and roads lead out in several directions into the rural interior.
The surrounding region is home to Atoni communities, known for traditional houses and weaving. The countryside around Soe is a patchwork of small farms, grassland and forest on the slopes. The town serves as a market and administrative centre for villages spread across the highlands.
A Soe map poster shows a highland town that adapts to its terrain. In black and white, the curving streets form a loose, lively pattern with the roads leaving town as long, winding lines. It suits people from Timor, those who have worked or travelled in Nusa Tenggara, and anyone who wants a personal, specific place on the wall.
The town's roads curve across rolling ground without a strict grid. The result is an irregular, organic pattern that is pleasant to look at up close.
Several main roads leave Soe and wind toward villages and the rest of the island. They extend the composition outward in long lines.
Farmland, grass and forest surround the town and leave broad open space around the built area. That space gives the print breathing room.
