Te mapa
Srikakulam is the headquarters of Andhra Pradesh's northernmost district, set on the coastal plain a short distance inland from the Bay of Bengal. The Nagavali River runs through the area, and the town has grown along its banks. On the map the older, denser streets sit close to the water, newer neighbourhoods spread outward, and irrigated fields surround the whole.
The town is known across the region for the Arasavalli Sun Temple, dedicated to Surya, one of the relatively few temples in India devoted to the sun god. It draws pilgrims especially during festival days. Srikakulam also serves as the market and administrative centre for a largely agricultural district that stretches north towards the Odisha border.
A Srikakulam map poster is built around the river. A soft line crosses the composition, streets gather tightly on either side, and roads lead out across the flat plain. In black and white, the tension between the curving river and the town's fine street pattern gives the image its character.
The river crosses the town area in a gentle curve, and its bridges carry roads between the two banks. It is the strongest natural line on the poster.
The temple quarter lies on the town's edge and is its best-known site. Its surrounding lanes form a small, dense cluster within the wider street network.
Flat farmland spreads out around the town and runs towards the Bay of Bengal. On the map it appears as open ground crossed by roads, framing the urban core.
