Te mapa
Tal’menka is an urban-type settlement in Altai Krai, in southern Siberia, north of Barnaul. It sits on the river of the same name, and on a map the settlement stretches along the valley. The railway between Novosibirsk and Barnaul runs through, adding a long straight line across the picture.
The street pattern is mostly regular, with long streets of detached houses, typical of Siberian district centres, and a denser core near the station and the main road. Beyond the edges of the settlement, fields and patches of pine forest alternate, and the river's winding course and old channels break up the grid.
A Tal’menka map poster shows a settlement shaped by three things: the river, the railway and the surrounding forest. The long residential streets give it a steady rhythm, while the meanders of the river soften one side. Paper suits the rural Siberian setting, and Classic black and white makes the grid especially crisp.
The Novosibirsk to Barnaul railway crosses the settlement in a long straight line, with the station area forming its busiest part.
The Talmenka river winds along the valley with bends and old channels, adding irregular curves next to the settlement's straight streets.
Rows of houses with gardens line long parallel streets, a typical Siberian pattern that gives the map a clear rhythm.
