Te mapa
Tecate sits in a valley in the mountains east of Tijuana, directly on the border with the United States. From above, its most defining line is the international boundary running along the northern edge of town, straight and unbending, while the street grid below it adapts to rolling ground, creek beds and the rocky hills that close in on every side.
The town is widely known for the beer that carries its name, brewed here since the 1940s, and for its designation as one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos. Nearby rises the peak known as Cuchumá, sacred to the Kumeyaay people whose lands span both sides of the border. Around the central Parque Hidalgo, the older blocks keep a relaxed, small-town scale.
A Tecate map poster turns that setting into a clear composition: the fine grid of the centre, the highway threading east and west through the valley, and the hard horizontal of the border. Because the terrain is hilly, the streets outside the core bend and branch, giving the print a looser, more organic outer edge.
The international boundary cuts across the top of the map in a single straight stroke, a clean graphic edge that makes Tecate instantly recognisable among Mexican towns.
The central plaza sits within a compact grid of blocks, the small civic heart of town and the point from which the older streets spread outward.
Beyond the centre, streets curve around slopes and dry washes, and the built area thins into open, rocky ground typical of the Baja California highlands.
