Branching roads
Rather than a grid, The Valley is built along roads that fork and meet across the island's interior. On the map they form a loose, open network.

Te mapa
The Valley is set a little inland in the centre of Anguilla, a long, flat, low island in the northern Caribbean. From above, it is not a dense town with a clear grid. Instead, roads branch across open, scrubby land, and houses, government buildings and shops cluster at junctions. Main roads lead out in several directions towards the coasts and the island's bays.
The Valley is the capital of Anguilla, a British Overseas Territory. It grew around a slight depression in the island's limestone surface, which gave the place its name. One of its oldest surviving buildings is Wallblake House, a plantation house from the late eighteenth century. Much of the island's life happens along the coast, while The Valley serves as its administrative centre.
A The Valley map poster has a light, open feel. There is no harbour at its centre and no single dominant street, just a network of roads spreading over the flat interior. Widening the frame brings the island's coastline and salt ponds into view. The result is a calm, airy map of a small island capital.
Rather than a grid, The Valley is built along roads that fork and meet across the island's interior. On the map they form a loose, open network.
Unlike many Caribbean capitals, The Valley does not sit on a harbour. The coast is a short drive away, so the town is surrounded by land on the map.
A wider frame shows Anguilla's long, narrow outline, with bays and beaches along its edges. The Valley sits near its middle, linked to both coasts by road.

Koteā ko The Valley
The Valley is home for Anguillians and a familiar name for visitors who have spent time on the island. A map of its open road network and the flat land around it is a gentle, uncluttered way to remember Anguilla.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a phrase. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Sand style suits the island's pale limestone and beaches.
