River valley

Te mapa
Tsiombe is a town in the Androy region at the southern tip of Madagascar, in one of the island's driest landscapes. On a map, the town is small and loosely built. A few main streets form its spine, and houses and compounds spread out around them. The river valley beside it, the Manambovo, adds a soft curve to the plain.
This is Antandroy country, known for its spiny thicket vegetation and the long, hard dry seasons that shape daily life. Outside the town, the land is marked by few lines: tracks between villages, small fields and the main road running across the south. The empty space on the map says as much about the place as the streets do.
A Tsiombe map poster is a rare portrait of a town that seldom appears on printed maps. Its shape is simple and honest, a cluster of streets beside a river on an open plain. It is a meaningful piece for people from the Androy region and for those who have lived or worked in southern Madagascar.
A river passes beside the town, giving it a natural edge. Its gentle bends are the strongest natural line on the poster and contrast with the straight streets.
Around the town the land is sparsely marked, with scattered tracks and small fields. It gives the composition wide margins and a very calm character.
A few principal streets form the town's framework, and the rest of the built area spreads loosely around them. The result is a simple, clearly legible pattern.

Koteā ko Tsiombe
A map of Tsiombe is personal by nature, since few people know this town unless it is part of their story, through family, work or a long stay in the south. The poster keeps that place present, far from where it may now hang.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be written as you like, including a Malagasy phrase or a date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Get it as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster.
