Te mapa
Tsuiki was a town in the Chikujō district of eastern Fukuoka Prefecture, facing the Suō-nada, the western part of the Seto Inland Sea. In 2006 it merged with neighbouring Shiida to form the town of Chikujō, but the name is still used locally and on the map. The land is low and open, with rice paddies, small rivers and settlements strung along the roads.
Its best-known feature is Tsuiki Air Base, operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Its runway lies close to the shoreline and is the longest straight line in the landscape. The airfield dates from the wartime years and is still a major presence in the area, with aircraft passing over the paddies and the coast throughout the year.
A Tsuiki map poster shows a quietly geometric scene: the rectangular grid of paddy fields, the sharp edge of the runway, small rivers ending in estuaries, and the smooth curve of the coast. In black and white it has the clarity of a technical drawing, and the Blueprint style suits it particularly well.
The JASDF runway runs close to the sea. Its long, clean line dominates the map and makes the area instantly recognisable to anyone who knows it.
Inland, rice fields form a regular chequerboard crossed by irrigation channels and farm roads, the typical farming pattern of Fukuoka's coastal plains.
The shore faces the calm waters of the western Seto Inland Sea, with small rivers reaching the coast and settlements following the line of the land.

Koteā ko Tsuiki
People who served at the air base, grew up in the surrounding villages or photographed aircraft there often want a map that marks the place precisely. A Tsuiki poster does that without clutter, and it works as well in an office as at home.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, whether that is the old town name, a squadron or a date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
