Te mapa
Tullinge is a residential area in Botkyrka municipality, south-west of central Stockholm. It lies along the eastern shore of the lake Tullingesjön, and a wooded ridge runs through the area. The commuter railway toward Södertälje passes through, and Tullinge station forms a natural centre, with a small cluster of shops and services around it.
Most of Tullinge consists of detached houses on curving streets that follow the uneven ground. On the map these streets form loops and cul-de-sacs rather than a grid, set among areas of forest. East of the housing is the site of a former military airfield, whose large open area stands out clearly against the fine texture of the residential streets.
A Tullinge map poster sets the lake shore, the wooded ridge and the winding villa streets in one calm frame. It is well suited to Scandinavian interiors, where a minimalist black-and-white print sits easily. For residents it is a picture of home, and for people who have moved away it is a reminder of lakeside summers and commuter mornings.
The lake runs along the western side of Tullinge. Its long shoreline, with small bays and jetties, gives the poster a strong edge of open water.
The railway cuts through the area on a straight alignment, with the station at its heart. On the map it is the clearest line connecting Tullinge with Stockholm.
A large open area marks the site of an old military airfield. Its broad, empty shape stands out among the curving residential streets around it.
