Te mapa
Uchiza lies in the Tocache province of San Martín, in the upper Huallaga valley, where the eastern slopes of the Andes meet the Amazon lowlands. The town's layout reflects that setting. A main road carries most of the traffic, a modest grid of blocks spreads out from it, and beyond the last streets the map opens onto green, lightly settled country.
This is a place defined by its valley. Rivers and streams come down from the hills towards the Huallaga, and the land between them is farmed and forested. On a poster, the town reads as a small, orderly patch set against a much larger natural landscape, which is exactly how it feels to arrive there.
An Uchiza map poster is a way to keep that balance of town and valley in view. It is a natural choice for people from the area, or for anyone who has travelled the long road through the upper Huallaga and wants to remember a specific place along it.
A main road runs through Uchiza and organises the town around it, giving the poster a strong central line from which the side streets branch off.
Off the main road, the streets settle into a fairly regular grid of blocks, a tidy pattern that contrasts with the irregular terrain surrounding the town.
Streams and forested slopes around the town belong to the upper Huallaga valley, a transition zone between the Andes and the Amazon basin.

Koteā ko Uchiza
Uchiza means something particular to those who know it: family, work, a stretch of road through the valley. A map poster keeps that place present, simple and legible on a wall far from the jungle edge.
