Te mapa
Uwa is a former town in the south-west of Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku, now part of the city of Seiyo. It lies in a basin surrounded by forested mountains, with rice fields covering much of the valley floor. On the map, the settled area follows the valley and the roads, while the steep slopes around it remain almost empty.
Uwa is known for its historic townscape of Unomachi, where a street of traditional merchant houses has been preserved, and for Kaimei School, an early Meiji-era Western-style school building that is among the oldest of its kind in western Japan. A long wooden former school building nearby houses a museum devoted to rice, fitting for a town surrounded by paddies.
A Uwa map poster shows the old street, the valley roads and the patchwork of fields, framed by the mountain slopes. It is a gentle, quietly detailed map of rural Japan, a meaningful piece for those who come from Seiyo or who simply love the calm structure of a Japanese valley town.
The preserved merchant street forms a narrow, continuous line at the centre of the old town, the historic heart of the map.
Paddies fill the flat valley floor with a fine, regular pattern of small plots, giving the poster a soft, textured background.
Forested mountains surround the basin on all sides, and the map shows the town clearly enclosed within its valley.

Koteā ko Uwa
Uwa is a place of family roots, school memories and quiet travel in rural Shikoku. A map of its valley and old street turns those memories into a calm, understated print.
