Te mapa
Varberg lies on the Halland coast of western Sweden, facing the Kattegat roughly midway between Gothenburg and Halmstad. Its centre is a compact grid of straight streets just inland from the harbour, while residential areas spread north and south along the shore and inland over gently rising ground. The railway and the coastal road run through the town, parallel to the sea.
The dominant landmark is Varberg Fortress, a medieval castle later expanded into a fortress, standing on a rocky promontory beside the harbour. Its museum holds the Bocksten Man, a remarkably well-preserved medieval body found in a bog nearby. Just below the walls, the Kallbadhus, an ornate cold-bath house built out over the water, is one of the town's most recognisable buildings.
A Varberg map poster gathers these features into one clear image: the regular grid of the centre, the fortress on its headland, the harbour piers and the smooth line of the coast running away in both directions. It is a natural choice for anyone who has spent summers on the Halland coast, or who calls this town home.
Varberg Fortress occupies a rocky headland beside the harbour, its outline of walls and bastions forming the most distinctive shape on the map.
A long promenade follows the shoreline away from the centre, passing rocky coves and beaches and drawing a clean line along the edge of the Kattegat.
The town centre is laid out in straight, regular blocks just back from the water, a tidy pattern that contrasts with the irregular rocky coast.

Koteā ko Varberg
Varberg holds strong memories for families who return every summer and for those who grew up by its harbour. A map of the town is an understated way to keep the sea air, the fortress and the long coastal walks close.
