Te mapa
Varkala lies on the coast of southern Kerala, and the edge of its map is unlike most of the state. Instead of a low sandy shore, laterite cliffs rise directly above the beach, and a narrow path runs along the clifftop lined with small guesthouses and cafes.
Inland, the town gathers around the Janardhana Swamy temple, a long-standing pilgrimage site, and Papanasam beach below it is associated with ritual bathing. Sivagiri, where the social reformer Sree Narayana Guru is buried, draws visitors from across Kerala. Coconut groves and waterways fill the land behind.
A Varkala map poster places a sharp coastline beside a gentle, irregular network of village roads, temple lanes and tree-covered plots. The straight sweep of the Arabian Sea on one side makes the composition calm and balanced.
The laterite cliffs run parallel to the sea, with the clifftop path tracing the coastline and the beach a thin strip beneath.
Lanes around the Janardhana Swamy temple form the older core, leading down toward Papanasam beach along the shore.
Behind the coast, winding roads pass through coconut groves, small canals and paddy fields, a soft, dense texture of lines.

Koteā ko Varkala
Varkala is a place people come back to, whether for pilgrimage, family or long stays by the sea. A map of the cliff coast is a quiet reminder of mornings on the clifftop path and evenings over the water.
