Te mapa
Vigia, often called Vigia de Nazaré, lies on the shore of the vast estuary where the Pará River and the waters of the Amazon system meet the Atlantic. From above, the town is a compact block of streets pressed against the water, with tidal creeks and mangrove channels curling away to either side.
It is one of the older settlements of Pará, dating from the colonial period, and its religious festival devoted to Our Lady of Nazareth is a central event in the local calendar. The older quarter near the waterfront keeps a denser street pattern, while newer districts spread inland along roads heading toward Belém.
A Vigia map poster is mostly about the meeting of land and water. The broad estuary takes up much of the frame, and the shoreline turns ragged where creeks and mangroves cut into it. Against that, the small orderly grid of the town has a quiet, anchored presence.
The town faces a huge expanse of estuarine water, and on the map this open space gives the composition a calm, horizon-like weight.
Narrow channels wind through mangroves on either side of town, forming fine branching lines that look almost like roots or veins in print.
The oldest streets sit close to the waterfront, where the settlement began in the colonial period, and their tighter pattern contrasts with the looser districts inland.

Koteā ko Vigia
Vigia means home, festivals and river journeys for many families in Pará. A map of the town on the estuary makes a meaningful gift for someone who moved to Belém or further away and still thinks of the water there.
Personalise the title and subtitle, for example with the name of a street or a festival year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download a free watermarked preview before buying the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
