Wuling Map Poster
Wuling is a town on the Yangtze River in Chongqing, within the Three Gorges Reservoir area. The river here is broad and slow, raised by the dam further downstream. On the map, the water forms a wide band through the landscape, and the town's streets cling to the hillside above it.
The terrain is steep and folded, typical of eastern Chongqing. Roads zigzag up the slopes, terraced fields and orchards cover the hillsides, and small valleys run down to the river. Like many settlements along this stretch of the Yangtze, parts of the town were rebuilt on higher ground when the reservoir filled.
