Te mapa
Yomitan occupies a broad cape on the western coast of central Okinawa. From above, the East China Sea frames it on three sides. Its shoreline breaks into small coves, reef flats and the rocky point of Cape Zanpa. Inland, the land is a patchwork of sugarcane fields, low hills and scattered settlements. They are linked by narrow roads that loop and fork instead of following a single grid.
Two layers of history show on the map. The stone walls of Zakimi Castle, part of the UNESCO-listed Gusuku sites of the Ryukyu Kingdom, sit on a rise near the centre. The long straight strip of a former military airfield cuts across the flatter ground, a reminder that American forces came ashore on these beaches in April 1945.
A Yomitan map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The coastline carries most of the drawing, with the sea left open around it. The road network thins as it approaches the cape. The broad rectangle of the old airfield gives the composition a firm geometric anchor.

The curving outer walls of a fifteenth-century gusuku stand on raised ground, a small enclosed form among the farm roads. The site is part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing.
A long, perfectly straight band crosses the middle of the town. It is the clearest geometric line on a map otherwise shaped by coves, fields and winding lanes.

Koteā ko Yomitan
Yomitan is a place people remember for its sunsets over the reef and its pottery villages, and many first get to know Okinawa here. A poster of the cape keeps that coastline close, whether you lived near the base, went diving or have family roots on the island.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle such as a date or family name, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand is a natural match for a coastline like this one.
