Te mapa
Zionsville lies in Boone County, northwest of Indianapolis, and has grown from a small railroad village into a sought-after suburban town. From above, its historic core appears as a compact cluster of straight streets, while the newer neighbourhoods around it follow looping roads and cul-de-sacs laid out across former farmland.
The town is known for its brick-paved Main Street, lined with shops and restaurants in the old village centre. Eagle Creek runs through the area, and wooded ravines and parks along its course break up the suburban pattern. The Big-4 Rail Trail, built on a former railroad line, adds a long, gentle path through town.
A Zionsville map poster shows these contrasting layers together: the tight grid of the village, the curved suburban streets and the green corridors along the creek. Printed in black and white, it reads as a clear diagram of how a small Midwestern village became a larger town without losing its original centre.
The historic Main Street forms the spine of the old village, a short straight line at the centre of the map surrounded by the original small blocks.
Eagle Creek and its wooded valleys cut through the town, creating irregular open spaces that separate neighbourhoods on the poster.
Following the route of a former railroad, the trail traces a long, steady line across the map, easy to pick out among the curving suburban streets.
