The map

About this Žabovřesky map poster

Žabovřesky is a district in the northwest of Brno, the Czech Republic's second city. From above, it rises from the Svratka river valley toward wooded hills. Lower streets form a denser urban pattern, while the upper slopes hold villa quarters on gently curving roads that follow the contour lines. Parks and green spaces break up the built-up area.

Much of the district developed in the early twentieth century, when Brno was growing fast and experimenting with modern architecture. The city is known for its interwar functionalist buildings, and Žabovřesky shares in that legacy. Today, it is a well-established residential area with good tram connections to the centre.

A Žabovřesky map poster offers a neighbourhood-level view of Brno, from the valley and main streets to the curved roads of the hillside. It is a detailed, varied print that suits Classic and Blueprint. For a softer, more archival look, choose Paper.

01

Svratka valley

The river runs along the lower edge of the district, with roads and green strips beside it. It provides the map's natural baseline.

02

Hillside villas

On the upper slopes, streets curve with the terrain and plots are larger. The pattern is looser and more organic than in the valley.

03

Tram corridors

Main streets carrying Brno trams run through the district toward the centre. They are the strongest, straightest lines in the composition.
