The map
Ban Lam Luk Ka lies in Pathum Thani province, on the north-eastern edge of the Bangkok metropolitan area. Its map is defined by water: the district is crossed by the long, straight canals of the Rangsit irrigation system, many of them known simply by number. Roads run beside them, producing a remarkably regular pattern of parallel lines.
Between the canals, land that was once rice fields has been steadily filled with housing estates, factories and shops. From above, these developments appear as small clusters of streets set within the larger canal grid. The overall shape is flat and geometric, with none of the curves of an old river town.
A Ban Lam Luk Ka map poster makes the most of that geometry. The canals and roads form an almost architectural composition, and the housing estates add finer detail in between. It suits anyone who lives here and commutes into Bangkok, or who remembers the district before its fields filled in.

Residential developments sit between the canals, each with its own small network of streets, adding fine texture to the larger grid.
Remaining open land shows how the area was once rice fields, divided along the same geometric lines as the canals.
