The map
Gyomaendrőd was formed in 1982 when the neighbouring towns of Gyoma and Endrőd in Békés County were joined, on the Great Hungarian Plain. On the map the two centres are still easy to tell apart. They are separate clusters of streets that have grown toward each other and are linked by roads across flat, open countryside.
The Hármas-Körös river winds past the town, and several of its old meanders survive as crescent-shaped oxbow lakes, cut off when the river was regulated. Flood embankments run in long lines beside the channel. From above, these curves and dykes are the most distinctive features, set against the straight field boundaries of the plain.
Gyoma has a notable place in Hungarian printing history as the home of the Kner printing house, whose books and typography were widely admired. A Gyomaendrőd map poster fits that heritage, presenting the river, the twin centres and the surrounding farmland in a clean, typographic style with the town's name set beneath.

The historic cores of Gyoma and Endrőd remain distinct on the map. Each has its own street pattern, and the two are linked by roads across open ground.
Long levees follow the Hármas-Körös and trace the river's course with firm parallel lines that frame the water.
