The map
Kessel-Lo is a district of Leuven, in Flemish Brabant, lying east of the city centre on the far side of the railway. Formerly a separate municipality, it was merged into Leuven in 1977, and it is now one of the city's largest residential areas, home to families, commuters and many people connected with the university.
The railway lines from Leuven station form the district's western boundary and give the map a strong straight edge. Beyond them, the street network is a mix of older terraced streets near the station and more spacious neighbourhoods further out, with main roads leading east toward the outer villages and towns of the region.
The largest open space is the Provinciaal Domein Kessel-Lo, a public park with a lake, meadows and woodland used by the whole city. A Kessel-Lo map poster shows the lake as a clear shape among the residential blocks, alongside the railway and the streets that climb gently toward the higher ground of the district.
The provincial park, with its lake and wooded paths, forms a large open area within the district and gives the poster a central, calm focal point.
Tracks leading in and out of Leuven station separate Kessel-Lo from the historic centre, a firm line that frames the district on its western side.
Terraced streets near the station give way to quieter residential areas further east, creating a gradual change in density across the map.

Why Kessel-Lo
Many people live in Kessel-Lo during their student years or while starting a family, and a map of the district is a lasting reminder of that time. The park and railway make it a composition with a clear, satisfying structure.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a street name or the year you moved in, and adjust the coordinates. Choose from five styles, including Classic black & white and Noir. Download the files for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
