The map
Kutná Hora in Central Bohemia grew rich from silver mining in the Middle Ages, when its mint struck the Prague groschen and the town rivalled Prague in importance. Its historic centre, together with the Church of St Barbara and the Cathedral of the Assumption in Sedlec, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995. Sedlec is also known for its bone-decorated ossuary.
From above, the old town is a dense knot of irregular medieval streets, bounded in part by the valley of the Vrchlice stream. St Barbara's Church stands at the edge of the historic core overlooking the valley, and the Italian Court, the former royal mint, sits within it. To the northeast, the separate district of Sedlec forms its own cluster around its monastery church.
A Kutná Hora map poster suits travellers who spent a day here from Prague, admirers of Gothic architecture and people with family ties to the region. The contrast between the tightly woven old town and the more open districts beyond makes for a rich composition, particularly in the Classic and Noir styles.

The narrow valley of the Vrchlice runs along the edge of the old town, visible on the map as a winding gap where the streets fall away.
Northeast of the centre, Sedlec forms a separate cluster of streets around its former monastery, home to the cathedral and the well-known ossuary.

Why Kutná Hora
Kutná Hora is often a first trip beyond Prague, and many people remember it as the highlight. A map poster keeps that day in view, rendering the medieval street plan in fine lines that reward a closer look.
Add a title, a subtitle naming the trip or an anniversary, and a date or coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download the six-size HD set for $9 or order a matte print with a wooden frame.
