The map
Madīnat Ḩamad, or Hamad Town, was built in the 1980s as a planned residential town in central Bahrain. From above, the planning is immediately visible. A long main road runs through the town, punctuated by roundabouts, and residential districts branch off in regular, carefully arranged patterns.
The town is known locally for its numbered roundabouts, which residents and visitors use to find their way. On a Madīnat Ḩamad map poster these circles appear as a rhythmic sequence along the main avenue, a distinctive feature that few other towns have.
Around the residential areas, the desert and farmland of central Bahrain form open, empty space. The contrast between the careful geometry of the town and the plain landscape around it gives the map a clean, almost diagrammatic look.

Housing blocks follow repeating layouts with cul-de-sacs and internal streets. They give the poster an orderly, modular texture that shows the town's deliberate design.
Undeveloped land around the town leaves wide empty space at the edges of the composition. The planned street pattern stands out clearly against it.
