The map
Mankesim is a town in the Central Region of Ghana, a short distance inland from the Gulf of Guinea coast and on the main road linking Accra with Cape Coast. The map shows a settlement organised around a busy junction: the highway passes through, secondary roads branch off toward nearby towns, and a dense network of lanes fills the centre.
In Fante tradition, Mankesim is remembered as an early settlement founded after the migration of the Fante people into the coastal region, and it remains an important traditional centre. The town is also known for its large market and for its posuban, the decorated shrines of the Asafo companies. These give Mankesim a significance well beyond its size.
A Mankesim map poster captures the town's compact heart and the roads radiating from it toward the coast and the interior. Printed in clean lines, it is a meaningful piece for Fante families at home and abroad, and for anyone who has travelled through the Central Region and stopped at its crossroads.

The market area appears as a tight cluster of streets and open spaces, the densest and most intricate part of the town's layout.
Beyond the centre, lanes spread into farmland and smaller settlements, with the coastal plain extending south toward the Gulf of Guinea.

Why Mankesim
For many Fante families, Mankesim holds a place in shared history as well as in personal memory. A map of the town is a quiet way to honour that connection, whether it hangs in Ghana, London or North America.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a festival year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
