The map
Sawang Daen Din is a district town in Sakon Nakhon province, in the upper northeast of Thailand. From above, its outline is simple. A main road carries most of the town's traffic, a few blocks of streets extend out from it, and then the land opens into flat fields. The black-and-white map shows how closely the town keeps to its roads.
The Khorat Plateau, the wide tableland that covers most of Isan, sets the pattern around the town. Rectangular paddies, farm tracks, irrigation ditches and small ponds fill the surrounding countryside. Each is drawn as a fine line or a small shape, and together they create a fine, even texture. At poster scale they look almost woven, framing the denser centre.
A Sawang Daen Din map poster reduces the district to its essentials: roads, water and the few blocks where the town gathers. There is no colour to separate farmland from town, so the eye reads density alone. Built-up streets turn dark, and the fields fade to a pale, open grain at the edges of the frame.
The town's streets form along a main regional road. On the map it appears as one clear line with smaller streets branching off at intervals, like ribs on a leaf.
The land around the town is flat Isan countryside. Field boundaries and farm tracks show up as a light, repeating pattern that fills much of the poster.
Small reservoirs and farm ponds dot the surrounding land. They appear as small solid shapes that break up the regular grid of the fields.

Why Sawang Daen Din
Many people who hang this map grew up in Sakon Nakhon province or have family there. Others worked or taught in the district and want to keep a quiet record of it. The simple layout suits a hallway or study, where a plain print sits better than a photograph.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to show a family name, a year or a village nearby. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand's warm tone matches the colour of the plateau fields in the dry season.
