The map
Secunderabad lies directly north of Hyderabad in Telangana, the two cities separated by the large Hussain Sagar lake and joined by the road along its embankment. On the map the lake forms a clear boundary, and north of it the street pattern changes: wide, green cantonment roads and open grounds take the place of the denser lanes of the older city to the south.
The city was founded in 1806 and named after Sikandar Jah, the third Nizam of Hyderabad. It grew around a British military cantonment, one of the largest in India, and much of its land is still laid out with barracks, parade grounds and tree-lined avenues. Secunderabad railway station is a major junction, with lines radiating in several directions.
A Secunderabad map poster traces the lake shore, the cantonment and the railway lines that give the city its structure. It makes a meaningful piece for families with military or railway connections, for long-time residents, and for anyone who knows the twin cities from both sides of the water.

Large areas of the city are military land, drawn on the map as open grounds and broad, widely spaced roads that contrast with the tighter civilian neighbourhoods.
Tracks converge on Secunderabad railway station from several directions, cutting long, gently curving lines through the city's street pattern.
