The map
Tangi lies in the Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the fertile plain of the Peshawar valley. On a map the town forms a dense core of lanes around its market area, with roads leading out across farmland to neighbouring villages. The surrounding land is flat and intensively cultivated.
Irrigation defines the landscape here. Canals and channels branch across the fields, and on a black and white map they appear as thin, sometimes perfectly straight lines crossing the rural pattern. Together with village tracks and field boundaries they give the countryside a detailed texture that frames the town.
A Tangi map poster shows a place rooted in agriculture, where the town serves a wide, productive district. The contrast between the tightly packed centre and the open, canal-lined fields around it makes the composition clear and balanced, even without well-known landmarks.
Narrow lanes cluster tightly around the town's commercial core, forming the darkest and most detailed part of the poster.
Canals and water channels cross the surrounding farmland in long lines, a defining feature of the fertile Peshawar valley.
Roads and tracks connect Tangi to many smaller villages around it, spreading a fine web of lines across the edges of the map.
