About this Temblador map poster
Temblador sits in the south of Monagas state, where the plains of eastern Venezuela begin to flatten toward the Orinoco delta. From above, the town is a compact cluster of blocks with nothing tall around it, surrounded by open country and thin lines of vegetation that follow the watercourses. Roads leave it in long straight lines, which makes the outline easy to read.
The name is also linked to one of the early oil fields of eastern Venezuela, and the surrounding landscape still shows the influence of that industry. Drawn in monochrome, the town looks quiet and orderly. Straight streets, scattered outlying blocks and the paths of streams across the plain give the page a sparse, horizontal balance that feels true to the place.
