About this Wetzikon map poster
Wetzikon lies in the Zurich Oberland, east of Zurich, in rolling land between the lakes and the pre-Alpine hills. From above, it has no single historic core. Instead, it is made up of several former villages that have grown together. Each has its own cluster of streets, and roads and railway lines tie them together.
Lake Pfäffikon lies just to the northwest. Its oval shoreline is surrounded by protected moorland and reed beds, which appear on the map as open, irregular spaces. The railway station is an important hub for the S-Bahn network, and the tracks cut clean lines through the town. Wetzikon Castle, surrounded by water, is a reminder of the town's older past.
