Te mapa
Abruka is a small island in western Estonia, just south of Kuressaare on Saaremaa. It is low and compact, with a gently rounded coastline and a few islets close offshore. From above there is little to interrupt the shape: a handful of tracks, a small harbour facing the larger island, and a green interior with almost no built-up land.
The island is known for its broadleaf woodland, a rare type of forest for this part of the Baltic and now protected as a nature reserve. Only a small number of people live there year-round, and the island is reached by boat from the Saaremaa coast, which lies close enough to appear at the edge of a wider map.
An Abruka map poster is an exercise in restraint. A few paths, the harbour and the soft shoreline carry the drawing, and the shallow water around the island takes up most of the frame. The result is quiet and airy, closer to a nautical sketch than a street map, and suits a simple layout with a clear title.
Much of the island is covered by old broadleaf forest, now a nature reserve. On the map it leaves the interior largely empty, crossed only by a few thin tracks.
The small harbour faces north toward Kuressaare, the direction boats arrive from. It is one of the few places where the island's outline is broken by built structures.
Several smaller islets lie close to Abruka in the shallow bay. They add scattered points to the composition and hint at how low this stretch of coast lies.

Koteā ko Abruka
Abruka suits someone with a family link to Saaremaa or a memory of a summer crossing to the island. It is a map for people who value calm spaces over dense ones.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, whether with a family name, a year or the island's Estonian spelling. Paper and Sand lend it warmth, while Blueprint suits the shallow Baltic water and makes it feel like a chart.
