Te mapa
Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates, and its main city occupies a short stretch of coast on the Persian Gulf, directly northeast of Sharjah. On a map the two cities join so seamlessly that the boundary is hard to see. What sets Ajman apart is its creek, a natural inlet that curves inland and splits into channels behind the coast.
A long, straight beach runs along the western edge, with the Corniche following the shoreline and towers rising behind it. Along the creek, traditional wooden dhows are still built and repaired, and the harbour and port handle the city's shipping. Inland, the street layout becomes a grid of residential blocks extending toward the desert.
The Ajman Museum occupies an eighteenth-century fort that once served as the ruler's residence and later as a police headquarters. An Ajman map poster shows a small place with a clear coastline, a distinctive pattern of water and dense urban blocks, all fitting comfortably within a single frame.
The creek bends inland from the Gulf, dividing into channels and lagoons that give the map its most characteristic water shapes.
A straight beachfront road running parallel to the sea, drawn as a clean line between the sand and the city's grid of towers and residential blocks.
Near the creek, the traditional boatbuilding area is a reminder of Ajman's maritime past, set among modern harbour and port infrastructure.

Koteā ko Ajman
Many residents of the UAE have lived in Ajman at some point, often for its quieter pace and closeness to Dubai and Sharjah. A map of its coast and creek is a personal reminder of a first flat, a job or a family chapter.
