Te mapa
Jebel Ali is Dubai's industrial and maritime edge, shaped largely by engineering. From above, the coast is a series of straight quays, dredged basins and breakwaters. It is the largest man-made harbour in the world and one of the busiest ports in the Middle East, and on a map it looks like a precise geometric diagram.
Inland, the Jebel Ali Free Zone forms a large grid of warehouses and plant sites. Sheikh Zayed Road runs parallel to the coast towards Abu Dhabi, and the Dubai Metro runs alongside it. Offshore, the reclaimed Palm Jebel Ali adds a symmetrical outline to the sea. Desert, new residential districts and the airport area of Dubai South lie further inland.
A Jebel Ali map poster shows how deliberately this part of the Gulf coast has been built. The basins, the grid of the free zone and the palm-shaped island form a composition that is both technical and graphic. It suits monochrome very well.
Long straight quays and deep basins cut into the shoreline in a sequence of rectangles. It is the largest man-made harbour in the world and the most striking shape on the map.
The reclaimed island lies offshore with a trunk, fronds and a surrounding crescent. It adds a clear, symmetrical form to the sea.
Inland from the port, the Jebel Ali Free Zone forms a large, even grid of plots and service roads. It is one of the region's main logistics and business hubs.

Koteā ko Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali marks a working life for many people in Dubai: the port, the free zone or a first home in the new districts nearby. Its strong geometry also works well on a wall on its own merits.
