Akoupé is a town in southern Côte d'Ivoire, in the Lagunes district area north of Abidjan. It lies in a green, humid region of farms and forest, where cash crops shape the countryside. On the map the town appears as a network of streets gathered around a main road, with neighbourhoods spreading out on either side.
The land around the town is a patchwork of plantations, woodland and small watercourses, so the edges of the built area are soft and irregular. The roads leading out connect Akoupé with nearby towns and with the Abidjan region to the south, and they give the plan its main lines of direction.
