Te mapa
Baishan lies in southeastern Jilin province, in the hilly, heavily forested country that leads toward the Changbai Mountains and the border with North Korea. The city has little room to spread outward, so it stretches along the valley of the Hun River, and its map is a long ribbon of streets following the water between steep slopes.
The name means White Mountain, a reference to Changbai Shan, the volcanic massif that lies within the wider prefecture. The area developed around forestry and coal mining, and in recent decades has become known for natural mineral water and for ginseng from the mountain forests. Bridges link the two banks at intervals along the valley floor.
A Baishan map poster has an unusual, elongated composition: dense urban blocks confined to a winding corridor, with large empty areas where the hills rise. That contrast between packed valley and blank slopes gives the design a strong sense of terrain even without contour lines. It is a fitting picture of a city shaped entirely by its landscape.
The river curves through the entire city, and nearly every major street runs parallel to it, creating a flowing, directional pattern across the poster.
Short bridges cross the river at intervals, stitching together the two halves of the city and adding a rhythm of small crossings to the design.
Steep hills press in on both sides of the valley, leaving broad empty areas on the map that frame the dense urban strip in the middle.

Koteā ko Baishan
Baishan's shape is instantly personal to anyone who knows it: the river, the narrow valley, the neighbourhoods climbing the side streets. For people who have moved to larger cities, a map is a clear and dignified reminder of where they started.
The poster can carry your own title, a subtitle with a name or date, and a custom coordinates line. Choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
