Te mapa
Balbriggan lies on the coast of Fingal, at the northern edge of County Dublin. The map shows a town built around a small harbour, with the old centre set just behind the shore and side streets dropping toward the water. The coastline is simple and firm, a clean edge along the eastern side of the frame.
The Dublin to Belfast railway crosses the harbour on a stone viaduct built in the 1840s, one of the town's defining structures and a strong straight line on the map. Balbriggan was once known for its hosiery mills, so much so that fine knitted cotton was sold as Balbriggan in shops far from Ireland. More recently it has grown quickly as a commuter town.
A Balbriggan map poster brings together the harbour, the rail line, the old centre and the newer estates that have spread inland in recent decades. It is a good choice for anyone who grew up near these beaches or commutes into Dublin from here, and for anyone who wants a coastal map with a clear, strong structure.
The small harbour is framed by the railway viaduct. Its long, straight line crosses the water and gives the map its most recognisable detail.
Beaches and low shoreline run north and south of the harbour, forming a crisp eastern edge that anchors the whole composition.
Residential areas built over recent decades spread west from the old centre. Their curving cul-de-sacs contrast with the older streets closer to the sea.

Koteā ko Balbriggan
Balbriggan has changed fast, and a map is a good way to mark a particular chapter in its story: a first home, a childhood near the harbour, or a family history tied to the mills. The coastline makes it instantly recognisable.
