Bambey Map Poster & Print

Bambey is a town in the Diourbel Region of central Senegal, in the heart of the country's groundnut basin. The land is flat and sandy, farmed for groundnuts and millet, and towns here grew along transport lines that carried harvests toward the coast. Bambey developed around the old Dakar–Niger railway.

On the map, the town is laid out in a fairly regular grid, with the railway corridor running through it and a main road crossing nearby. Blocks are broad and even, and the edges of town give way quickly to open fields. Few natural features interrupt the pattern, so the street layout itself becomes the main image.

A Bambey map poster also reflects the town's role in research and education. Bambey has long been home to an important agricultural research station, and it is the seat of Université Alioune Diop, which has made it a destination for students from across the country.

01

Railway corridor

The line of the old Dakar–Niger railway runs through the town, a straight axis that shaped Bambey's early growth as a market and transit centre.

02

Regular street blocks

Much of the town follows a clear grid of broad blocks, giving the map an orderly structure on flat ground with little to interrupt it.

03

Groundnut basin fields

Beyond the town the map opens into the wide farmland of central Senegal, a flat, quiet setting that makes the compact grid stand out.
