Te mapa
Bijie lies in the highlands of northwestern Guizhou, where the land folds into steep limestone hills and narrow valleys. The city's streets follow the valley floors, and development stretches wherever flat ground allows, leaving hills as dark, empty shapes between districts. From above, it looks less like a grid and more like a network of paths through terrain.
Roads curve and switch back as they climb out of the valleys, and newer expressways cross the landscape on long viaducts and through tunnels. A Bijie map poster shows this relationship clearly: dense clusters of streets, connected by winding routes that respect the mountains around them.
The wider region is part of the Wumeng Mountains and is known for the Baili Azalea area, where wild rhododendrons cover the hillsides each spring. The karst landscape, with its caves and sinkholes, shapes nearly everything about how the area is settled.

Roads leave the city in long curves and switchbacks, their lines tracing the contours of the surrounding karst hills.
Steep limestone hills rise between districts, appearing as open spaces that frame the denser street patterns around them.

Koteā ko Bijie
Bijie's mountain setting gives it a map unlike those of lowland cities, with streets that curve and cluster instead of forming a grid. It makes a distinctive wall piece for anyone who grew up in Guizhou or who loves landscapes shaped by terrain.
