Te mapa
Guiyang sits on the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, surrounded by the steep, rounded hills typical of karst landscape. On a map, the city rarely forms a clean grid. Instead, streets thread through valleys, wrap around hills and leave irregular green patches wherever the ground rises too sharply. The result is a fragmented, organic pattern with dense pockets of city between wooded slopes.
The Nanming River winds through the older centre, and the Jiaxiu Pavilion, first built in the Ming dynasty, stands on a rock in its channel as the city's best-known landmark. To the north-west, Qianling Mountain Park forms a large wooded space close to downtown. Newer districts such as Guanshanhu extend westward on somewhat more open ground.
Because of its altitude, Guiyang has notably mild summers, and it has become a major centre for data storage in China. A Guiyang map poster shows a city that has had to negotiate with its terrain at almost every turn, which gives the finished print more movement than most urban maps.
Rounded limestone hills interrupt the street network throughout the city, leaving scattered open shapes that give the map its distinctive broken texture.
The river curves through the old centre, crossed by many bridges, with the Jiaxiu Pavilion standing on a rock in the middle of the stream.
A large forested hill park close to the centre forms one of the biggest open spaces on the map, surrounded by streets on all sides.

Koteā ko Guiyang
Guiyang's hills and winding streets make it a city that feels different on foot and on paper. For someone who lives there, or who has spent time in Guizhou, the map captures the particular way the city fits among its slopes.
Add a title and subtitle, a date or coordinates, and choose from five styles. Noir brings out the contrast between built-up valleys and empty hills, while Paper gives a more muted feel. Download HD files or order a matte print.
