Te mapa
Duyun is the capital of the Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in southern Guizhou. It grew in a valley carved by the Jian River, surrounded by the rounded limestone hills typical of the province. On a map the river sets the rhythm, winding through the centre while streets and bridges gather on both banks.
Because flat land is scarce, the built-up area stretches along the valley floor and pushes into side valleys wherever the terrain allows. Hills rise sharply at the edges, leaving the city with an irregular outline, and newer districts spread along the roads and rail lines that thread through the karst to connect Duyun with Guiyang and beyond.
The city is best known across China for Duyun Maojian, a green tea with fine curled leaves grown on the surrounding slopes. A Duyun map poster shows a compact town shaped by water and hills, where the river bends and the green uplands around it define the space the streets can fill.
The river loops through the centre in gentle curves, crossed by a series of bridges that link the older core with districts on the opposite bank.
Rounded limestone hills press in from every side, leaving empty spaces on the map that make the dense valley streets stand out even more.
Roads and rail lines follow the valleys out of town, drawing long thin lines of development away from the centre toward the rest of Guizhou.

Koteā ko Duyun
Duyun suits anyone from Qiannan, anyone who studied or worked there, or a tea lover with a soft spot for Maojian. The river and hills give the map a natural, flowing shape that looks calm on a wall.
