Te mapa
Cheung Chau is a small island south-west of Hong Kong Island, reached by ferry from Central. Its outline is unusually distinctive. Two hilly, rocky ends are joined by a narrow, low-lying neck, which gives the island a dumbbell shape. The town fills that neck, with a busy harbour on one side and a sandy beach on the other.
There are no private cars on the island, so the map is a web of narrow lanes and footpaths, not roads. Cheung Chau is widely known for its annual Bun Festival, with its towers of buns and parade. It is also known for a small cave said to have been used by the pirate Cheung Po Tsai.
A Cheung Chau map poster is one of the most graphic island compositions you can choose. The dumbbell outline, the harbour full of small boats and the fine lanes of the town all come through clearly. The Noir and Blueprint styles make the coastline especially bold against the water.
Two rocky, hilly ends are joined by a narrow neck of land. The island's shape is instantly recognisable, even at a small print size.
The town's narrow waist has a working harbour on the west side and a long beach on the east, only a short walk apart.
Without roads for cars, the island is covered in narrow lanes and footpaths. They form a fine, intricate texture across the town.

Koteā ko Cheung Chau
For Hong Kong residents, Cheung Chau is a weekend escape: seafood by the harbour, a walk over the hills, the ferry home. A map of the island captures that rhythm and makes a memorable gift for anyone who has lived in or loved Hong Kong.
